Terms

Terms of use

What you can do with the record, the articles and the agent service, and what needs permission first.

Free to use

Reading, searching, linking to and quoting the site is free for personal, fan, journalistic and educational use. So is asking the record questions through /mcp or /api/v1/, yourself or through an agent acting for you. Commercial use needs permission first ([email protected]).

Bulk copying needs permission

Copying the record wholesale (scraping the pages, downloading the data files the site serves, or republishing the dataset or a substantial part of it as a site, app or file) needs written permission first. Search engines and AI assistants may read pages to answer a question and link back.

AI training

AI models may be trained on the record pages. Training on the articles needs written permission; the site's robots.txt tells training crawlers the same.

Credit

When you use a fact from the record, cite March Matness and link the page, or use the cite_as line every API answer carries.

Original work

Articles, graphics, site design and code are © Matt Grogan. Quoting a short passage with a link is fine; reproducing an article or graphic in full needs permission.

Facts and sources

Results are historical facts and belong to no one. These terms cover this compilation, its pages and its service, not the facts themselves. Sources are credited on About; rights in source material stay with their owners.

Limits

The API and MCP are limited to about 60 requests a minute per address. Access can be limited for traffic that strains the service.

No warranty

The record can contain errors, and drafted brackets are marked as drafted. Report errors to [email protected].

Affiliation and changes

Not affiliated with the NCAA. Changes are dated on this page; this version took effect October 23, 2026.
